Experts like epidemiologist Dr. Stephanie Silvera<\/a>, Professor in the Public Health Department<\/a>, are advising people to be cautious as we head into the colder months when indoor activities bring a higher risk \u201cnot just for COVID, but also for flu, and so we need to encourage people to get both their COVID vaccine as well as their flu vaccine.\u201d<\/p>\n Dr. Silvera noted, “The good news is, while we saw an increase in the number of cases towards the end of the summer, July and August, we are actually seeing a decrease in the number of new cases each day, which is very different than what we saw last year.”<\/p>\n
