\nSubmission:<\/strong>\u00a0Submissions can take the form of traditional paper\/project presentations (10-20 minutes), five-minute lightning talks, performances, or roundtables (30-40 minutes). You may also propose a workshop on a methodology, technical or otherwise, in which you have expertise and which you feel would be of broad interest. Proposals should be 200-300 words in length and should describe the proposed topic, requested time length and format, and participants.<\/p>\n

NewYorkScapes is excited to announce a call for papers for the\u00a0third annual Culture Mapping symposium<\/a>, to take place at NYU\u2019s Washington Square campus on April 12 & 13.\u00a0The submission deadline is March 1, 2019.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As a community focused on place-based cultural heritage and technology-enhanced research and teaching, we invite proposals that explore the intersection of space\/place (including but not exclusively New York City), mapping and cartography in their various registers, and digital methods. This year\u2019s symposium will highlight the theme of \u201cMigrations,\u201d and we are especially eager to highlight projects that think critically through this concept in terms of justice, community, and\/or resistance.<\/p>\n

Proposals from across the humanities and social sciences are welcome. Faculty, librarians, graduate and undergraduate students, staff and administrators, and community members are all encouraged to participate. Potential areas of engagement include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
