Congratulations to Samantha Glosser who will receive the Outstanding Academic Achievement and Service Award for the Social Sciences at the CHSS Convocation ceremony on Friday, May 17, 2019.<\/p>\n

Glosser, who came to Montclair as a transfer student in the fall of 2017, is receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology<\/a> with a minor in Child Advocacy and Policy<\/a>. Glosser is completing her studies with a cumulative 3.985 GPA and has been consistently named to the Dean\u2019s list during her studies.<\/p>\n

While at Montclair, Samantha was a recipient of the Thomas & Vincenia Romano scholarship two years in a row, in addition to being awarded a 精品成人福利在线 Scholars scholarship. In the fall of 2019, Glosser was a recipient of the Psychology Department\u2019s Student Scholar Achievement Award.<\/p>\n

As an active member of the campus community, Glosser has been inducted into Montclair\u2019s chapters of the Golden Key International Honor Society and Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. She is also a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success. Additionally, Glosser has helped her peers in the Psychology major as a tutor.<\/p>\n

During her junior year, Glosser became an undergraduate research assistant in Dr. Yingying Yang\u2019s Spatial Development Lab<\/a>. She was a key player in starting up Dr. Yang\u2019s new lab on campus by working with her peers to design the lab website, creating tasks that are being used in their current research study, recruiting participants, and administering research materials to a diverse group of participants.<\/p>\n

In addition to her research experience, Glosser worked as a clinical intake counselor intern at Arista Counseling and Psychotherapy this past semester. Here she was trained to work with new patients during the intake process and administer psychological inventories. Glosser also enjoys researching and writing blogs on current psychological issues and has had her work published on blogging platforms.<\/p>\n

Glosser also enjoys providing service to our community off campus. She has volunteered with SCARC to prepare individuals with intellectual disabilities for the Special Olympics, as well as with environmental agencies to plant flora to improve living conditions for animals. She also actively participates in RoNetco Supermarkets annual Partner\u2019s in Caring fundraising event to raise food and money for local food banks.<\/p>\n

Glosser will be pursuing her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology this fall at Marywood University. Upon completion of her graduate studies, she plans to become a licensed clinical psychologist and work as a therapist.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
