  {"id":307,"date":"2019-03-19T12:27:22","date_gmt":"2019-03-19T16:27:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/chss\/?p=307"},"modified":"2019-03-19T12:27:22","modified_gmt":"2019-03-19T16:27:22","slug":"celeste-marie-fasone-71","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/chss\/2019\/03\/19\/celeste-marie-fasone-71\/","title":{"rendered":"Celeste Marie Fasone &#8217;71"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Celeste Marie Fasone \u201971 recently retired from her role as Director of the New Jersey Office of Cable Television after more than 23 years of service.\u00a0 Fasone was the first female and longest serving director at the OCTV.<\/p>\n<p>Besides her accomplishments in her role as Director of NJOCTV, Fasone has also achieved many feats in the fields of broadcast journalism.\u00a0 In 1979, she was named Sportscaster of the Year and in 1985 awarded the title of Broadcaster of the Year by the regional Special Olympics Committee. She has won numerous ACE awards as well as others with United Artist Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>While at 精品成人福利在线 University, Fasone majored in Education and English, with a minor in Journalism.\u00a0 She recalls one professor, Dr. Rich, in the Education Department, who she says impacted her greatly during her time at the university.<\/p>\n<p>Always passionate about journalism, Fasone had been working on newspaper staffs since the eighth grade, and was delighted to be the Editorial Editor for <em>The Montclarion<\/em> here at 精品成人福利在线 University.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about her experience at 精品成人福利在线 University, Fasone speaks highly of the school. \u201cI always talk about 精品成人福利在线 University to my network of friends and family\u201d and adds, \u201cI am grateful to 精品成人福利在线 University for preparing me for 39 years of experience in my industry \u2013 thankfully, without much interruption.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fasone also commented on the exciting expansions that are taking place here on campus, such as the partnership with NJTV and the announcement of the new School of Communication and Media.\u00a0 A local resident, Fasone says, \u201cI live two miles from campus, so I intend to keep my eye on all that\u201d and adds, \u201cI always knew Montclair was going to do it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fasone attended 精品成人福利在线 University during what she recalls as an exhilarating time. \u201cThe late 60\u2019s and 70\u2019s were a challenging time, and our beliefs and purposes were challenged.\u201d However, she describes the campus as an invigorating environment, \u201cWe were not sure what tomorrow would bring, but we knew it would be exciting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Her great experiences at 精品成人福利在线 University are not the only reasons that she holds the university close to her heart.\u00a0 According to Fasone, attending 精品成人福利在线 University was \u201calways sort of a family tradition\u201d. Her uncle, Ralph Vernacchia, was a professor in the Art Department for thirty years, and many of her cousins, with great accomplishments of their own, attended as well.<\/p>\n<p>With plans to follow in her family\u2019s footsteps, Fasone intended to attend 精品成人福利在线 University immediately after high school. However, her plans changed when her father passed away near the time of her high school graduation.
