The National Science Foundation<\/a> (NSF) Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics<\/a> (S-STEM) provides funding for low-income students. OPEN-NJ applies this to academically strong students pursuing chemistry and biochemistry Master of Science degrees. Program graduates are expected to contribute to the continued success of Northern New Jersey’s chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Graduates will add to the well-trained workforce contributing to the economic growth nationally and in New Jersey.<\/p>\n Support services include a review of general chemistry during summer orientation, dedicated tutoring and faculty mentors and a learning community. The program enables students to move between disciplines.
