(For graduate and undergraduate mathematics, chemistry, physics, earth science, and biology future teachers)<\/strong><\/p>\n This scholarship program aims to prepare students to become effective elementary mathematics teaching in New Jersey’s high-need K-12 schools.\u00a0 Scholars in this program obtain an undergraduate degree in mathematics along with a K-6 elementary teaching certification. Each Noyce @ Montclair scholar receive a $13,000 scholarship<\/strong> and a $660 stipend<\/strong> each year for two years with additional money available for local conference travel<\/strong>. In return for the funds, students agree to work two years in a high-needs school in NJ for each year of funding received (if you receive funds for both years you would work 4 years in that school). Endowed Scholarships<\/h2>\n
General Undergraduate Scholarships:<\/h3>\n
\nAwarded to a qualifying undergraduate student enrolled in the College of Education and Human Services Teacher Education Program.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to an honors program student enrolled in either the Elementary or Secondary Teacher Education Program.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to a full-time sophomore or junior who exhibits potential for success in the teaching profession. Students must have 3.0 or better GPA and must demonstrate leadership, financial need, and involvement in campus\/community activities. Priority is given to Bergen County residents.<\/p>\n(English, History, Languages, Psychology, Geography, Political Science, or Sociology)<\/em><\/h4>\n
\nAwarded to a rising junior or prospective senior with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and who plans to teach in the humanities. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to one full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Social Studies or English who is in their student teaching semester with minimum 3.5 GPA and proven financial need.<\/p>\n
\nAvailable to support a scholarship to a student with a passion for English education who is in the teacher certification program (the recipient could be a student who excels in English education, literature, composition, English as a Second Language, reading, etc.). Preference given to a junior year student. The student must have financial need and exhibit promise as a future educator.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to a qualified undergraduate science major enrolled in the Teacher Preparation Program. This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to one full-time undergraduate Science\/Math major who will be a senior in the forthcoming semester the scholarship is awarded. Preference given to student majoring in Chemistry.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to one undergraduate student enrolled full-time pursuing certification in the sciences with a minimum GPA of 3.5.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to one full-time undergraduate mathematics major in their student teaching semester to assist in the purchase of technology or software for classroom use. Applicants must submit an additional one-page essay outlining how the technology will be used in the classroom.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to a graduate\/undergraduate student who demonstrates financial need.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to an undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates commitment to a career in urban education.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to provide much-needed aid to qualifying undergraduate and graduate students who aspire to and are enrolled in the Teacher Certification Program to become English as a Second Language Teachers. Students must be participating and\/or are enrolled in one of these programs in the College of Education and Human Services that provide specialized training to work effectively with students who are English Language Learners: Teach English Language Learners Program, Bilingual Bicultural Education Endorsement Program, Reading and Literacy Education Program<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to 10 juniors and 5 graduate students admitted to the Teacher Education Program who demonstrate excellence in the program.<\/p>\n\nGraduate Scholarships:<\/h3>\n
Anne Kirby Memorial Scholarship Fund<\/strong>
\nAwarded to a fully matriculated M.Ed. or MAT student preparing for a career in teaching. Student must have a strong GPA and must provide a one-page essay outlining one\u2019s educational goals.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to three (3) undergraduate or graduate student teachers in good academic standing who demonstrate financial need.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to full-time undergraduate or graduate students pursuing Teacher Certification who will be in their student teaching semester. Minimum GPA average of 3.0 and have proven financial need..<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to full-time undergraduate students who are enrolled in the teacher education program with a grade point average of at least 3.0. The recipient should be in their student teaching semester.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to an undergraduate student in the student teaching semester.<\/p>\n
\nAwarded to one or more full-time undergraduate student(s) preparing to become math teachers and who are in their student teaching semester with min. 3.0 cumulative GPA. This scholarship will be awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need.<\/p>\n
