In this workshop, you will be paired up with a colleague in a different discipline to test out several tools. You will have the opportunity to evaluate the tools’ usefulness and functionality, and critically discuss using AI tools in the literature review process for yourself, as well as for your students. Participants should bring a laptop or a tablet.

The workshop will feature Dr. Weitian Wang’s talk “Montclair AI for Teaching and AI Education: Examples, Progresses, and Future Plans,” discussing the implications of AI for teaching and the landscape of AI education programming at Montclair. After that we will share a toolbox of prompts, sample assignments, and implementation strategies for helping students learn how to use Gen AI productively and ethically. Participants will have the opportunity to work independently or in groups to construct their own assignments or activities using our toolbox. OFE staff will be available to assist and provide feedback.

Program

The OFE, ITDS, and the ADP Center are pleased to announce a Faculty Showcase focused on pedagogical practices and innovations using generative AI. We invite you to join, learn from colleagues about their experiences and experiments using generative AI in their teaching, get some fresh ideas for next semester, and enjoy lunch. 

When: Wednesday, Dec 13th, from 10-2:00 pm.
*Includes LUNCH

Where: University Hall 1122
We anticipate that presenters will be in person, and attendees will be in person or remote.

The Showcase will also provide the opportunity for attendees to learn more about GenAI teaching and learning tools, as well as seek advice and counsel from OFE, ITDS, and ADP staff.
