In addition to the University Senate, faculty, staff and student participation, University governance occurs through a variety of committees.<\/p>\n

Besides the three Senate Councils (Academic Affairs, Administrative Affairs and Student Affairs) and ad hoc committees appointed by the Senate, there are also:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Contractual committees whose roles are specified by the Local Selected Procedures Agreement include department, Research Committees, Professional Staff Review Board, Sabbatical Review Committee, Career Development Committee and Professional Staff Development Peer Review Committee.<\/li>\n
  2. Noncontractual, university-wide committees including Senate standing committees.\u00a0 These include Academic Computing, Academic and Professional Ethics, Budget and Finance, Calendar and Scheduling, University Undergraduate Curriculum, University Planning, University Services, Enrollment Management, Experiential Learning, Facilities, the Graduate Council, Scholastic Standing Appeals, Specialized Student Services, Student Life, Student Retention, Student Services, Writing, Teaching, Research and Professional Development.<\/li>\n
  3. College, school and department committees which operate under the organizational structure of individual colleges, schools and departments.<\/li>\n
  4. Task forces or commissions which are appointed by the President or a Vice President or by the Senate to advise on specific issues affecting the campus as a whole.\u00a0 Committees established by the administration in consultation with the University Senate shall have representation from the administration, faculty, professional staff, students and a Union.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
