Teaching (MAT) with Certification in Physics<\/h2>\n

Students with a baccalaureate degree and interest in teaching may pursue the Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) which simultaneously leads to certification AND master’s degree. The program is open to students who wish to teach in this content area in K-12 schools.<\/p>\n

It has been consistently recognized both nationally and regionally for its unique features, including its structure, partnerships and curricular emphases. The program is considered a model for other colleges and universities and has continuously been accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) since 1954.<\/p>\n

For certification as a P-12 teacher in New Jersey, current regulations require that applicants complete a minimum of 30 credits in a coherent sequence in the subject field, and a coherent sequence requires that at least 12 credits are completed at the advanced level of study (junior, senior or graduate level). If you require such subject area coursework for your certification program, please discuss this with an advisor during the admissions process.<\/p>\n
