Professional French Translation (Certificate)<\/h2>\n

The Graduate Certificate in Professional French Translation prepares students for careers as qualified translators in such critical industry sectors as health, law, business, media and culture. The program trains students seeking to develop the professional skills needed for translating from English to French and vice versa. Our proximity to New York City and the metropolitan area\u2019s vibrant pool of international industries, governmental organizations and media companies, among others, offers rich opportunities for professional networking and collaboration.<\/p>\n

Along with the Professional French Translation (Certificate), the Office of Graduate Admissions also offers French, Professional French Translation Concentration (MA)<\/a>,\u00a0French, French Studies Concentration (MA)<\/a>, Teaching (MAT) with Certification in French<\/a>, Teaching (MAT) with Dual Certification in French and Teacher of Students with Disabilities<\/a>, French (Combined Bachelor’s\/Master of Arts in Teaching)<\/a>, and French (Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification)<\/a>.\u00a0Students who complete the 12-credit certificate in Professional French Translation and decide to seek a Master\u2019s degree in French may opt to apply their earned credits to this degree.<\/p>\n

*Students seeking an F1\/J1 visa are not eligible for this certificate program unless they are currently pursuing a master’s degree at 精品成人福利在线 University and are able to simultaneously pursue both programs while maintaining their student visa requirements<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Admission Requirements<\/div>

The Office of Graduate Admissions requires the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree in order to be eligible to apply for a graduate program. Applicants with non-U.S. degrees, please visit the International Applicants<\/a>\u00a0page to review the U.S. degree equivalency information.<\/p>\n

Admission is open to: 1) those who hold a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from an English-speaking country and have completed at least 24 semester hours of undergraduate French or its equivalent; 2) those holding a bachelor\u2019s degree or its equivalent from a French-speaking university and able to demonstrate sufficient English proficiency; 3) those holding a bachelor\u2019s degree or its equivalent who have studied in neither a French-speaking nor English-speaking university system, but who are skilled in both languages on the condition that they demonstrate appropriate mastery of both languages.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n
