As an exchange student, our faculty and staff are excitedly waiting for you to join their classrooms and provide unique lenses to their fields of studies.<\/p>\n<p>To learn more about these offerings and these requirements, please review the areas below.<\/p>\n<div class='inset lt-gray'><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Academic Programs and Requirements<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p>Inbound Exchange \/ Visiting students, in most cases, may select courses in any of the University\u2019s Schools and Departments. There are a few rules for registration:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Exchange Students must take classes between 100-499 Level. You will need a total of 12-18 Credit Hours.\u00a0Most students will take 12-15 Credit Hours or 4-5 courses while completing their exchange program.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Students can only take one online course per semester (known as HawkSync) and these courses will show no meeting times.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\"><strong>Exchange Students Cannot Take accounting courses, some Education and Nursing courses, courses at Bloomfield College (BC is in subject title), and Graduate Level Courses (500 and Over).<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>These rules are subject to change semester to semester, please speak to your study abroad advisor prior to selecting classes if you are unsure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Prerequisites (required courses) must be satisfied for higher level courses.\u00a0This information can be found under Section\/Detail for classes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Placement exams may be required for foreign language, math, science, and other courses.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">English writing samples may be required for some classes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Portfolios may be required for some art classes Auditions may be required for some music and theatre classes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Exchange Students rarely complete Internships and it is not recommended to request an Internship course.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">You cannot sign up for an internship class without having an internship already secured and receiving approval from the Office of Global Engagement.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p role=\"presentation\">Exercise Based Classes (PEGN &#8211; such as Yoga, Ice Skating, Weightlifting, etc.) are discouraged for registration requests as spaces are often filled by Senior\/4th Year Graduating Students at Montclair.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students work with Brooke Klinger, Program Associate Inbound Exchange and Campus Engagement, to register for classes in advance of their semesters of study. To confirm if a particular class that interests you will be offered during your semester at 精品成人福利在线 University, view the Schedule of Courses and search by term.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>Note that International Inbound Exchange\/Visiting students are allowed to only take one course taught fully online.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students from partner universities wishing to study at 精品成人福利在线 University as an inbound exchange\/visiting student must be nominated by their home university and may apply for one semester or a full academic year. Students must be in good academic standing at their home university. Contact your institution\u2019s International Office or NSE Coordinator to apply.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Graduate students are not being accepted for exchange at this time.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Unless exempt, foreign exchange students must demonstrate English language proficiency with these scores:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">TOEFL iBT Test Minimum Score:70 (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ets.org\/toefl.html\">www.toefl.org<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 (see <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ielts.org\/\">www.ielts.org<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">English3 Placement Test minimum 55 (see English3)<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left\">Duolingo test minimum: 95<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Those exempt include: citizens of the U.K., Canada, and Australia, and\/or have studied four years in their home country in English, and students from University of Agder, University of Graz, UniCollege, and Kristianstad University.<\/p>\n<p>For Fall Admission, all materials should be received by early March. For Spring Admission, all materials should be received by early October.\u00a0Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the fall and spring semesters, but due to space constraints, there are limits to the number of exchange students from each university. Please also keep in mind the time required to secure a visa when applying.<\/p>\n<div class=\"prpl-column one-half\"><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class='inset lt-gray'><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Course Selections<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students work with Brooke Klinger, Program Associate Inbound Exchange and Campus Engagement, to register for classes in advance of their semesters of study. View the <a href=\"https:\/\/student-ssb-regis.montclair.edu\/StudentRegistrationSsb\/ssb\/term\/termSelection?mode=search\">Course Catalog in NEST<\/a> for a list of all available classes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Note that international Exchange\/Visiting students are not allowed to take more than one course taught online.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fall Courses are published in mid-March<\/li>\n<li>Spring Courses are published in mid-October.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students should complete an Exchange\/Visiting Student Course Request Form . Students must register for a minimum of twelve credits and no more than eighteen credit hours. Students on average take between 12-15 credits per semester, or four to five full credit courses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Be mindful of prerequisites and note that even though every department is open to exchange\/visiting enrollment, some courses have limitations. While the Office of International Academic Initiatives will try their best to accommodate you to reach your desired courses, there are instances where we may not be able to accommodate you. This includes but is not limited to: major restricted classes, limitation in seat numbers that cannot be challenged, and courses that are based on regional licensing standards.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>For course requests, students will be sent a form approximately two weeks prior to registration to input their requested courses.
