In honor of Scam Survivor Day, May 8, 2025<\/strong>, our <\/span>Information Security<\/a> team is raising awareness about the growing risk of scams and how you can protect yourself, your data, and our campus community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scams come in many forms\u2014emails, texts, phone calls, even fake social media messages\u2014and they\u2019re more convincing than ever. Whether you’re a student juggling classes and part-time jobs, a faculty member focused on research, or a staff member supporting campus operations, <\/span>everyone<\/span><\/em> is a potential target.<\/span><\/p>\n

Common Types of Scams on Campus<\/h2>\n

Here are some scams we\u2019ve seen targeting our community:<\/span><\/p>\n
