Using coding languages such as Python programming and C, students will work with Raspberry Pi&#8217;s and other microcontrollers to gain hands-on experience building intelligent devices that sense, learn, and respond to their environment using AI models, cameras, and various sensors.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By the end of the program, participants will:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Learn fundamental Python or C programming principles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Understand the basics and application of machine learning and artificial neural networks.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Design and build AI-powered embedded systems using Raspberry Pi&#8217;s and microcontrollers.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Collaborate and present a final AI engineering prototype system to the class and parents.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<p><strong>AI and Engineering Summer Lab will run during Session I: Sunday, July 12 \u2013 Saturday, July 18, 2026. <a href=\"https:\/\/apply.montclair.edu\/register\/precollege2026\">Apply Today<\/a>! <\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Program Director<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Professor Jesse Parron<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"mailto:parronj@montclair.edu\">parronj@montclair.edu<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/school-of-computing\/\">School of Computing<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The AI and Engineering Summer Lab is a one-week immersive summer experience that introduces high school students to the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence (AI), deep learning, and embedded systems.
