The Curricular Development Committee examines how advances in artificial intelligence are reshaping disciplinary knowledge, curricular composition, and professional expectations. Its work focuses on developing definitions, mapping AI-related curricular activity across the University, and engaging faculty, students, and staff in conversations about the role of AI in the curriculum.<\/p>\n

  1. Definitional Frameworks for Foundational, Intermediate, and Advanced AI Skills\u00a0<\/a>(access with Montclair NetID). The Curricular Development Subcommittee, in collaboration with the AI Competency and Fluency Subcommittee, developed these definitions to guide faculty, students, and staff.<\/li>\n

  3. Focus Groups for students, faculty, advisors, and student success staff<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The AI Curricular Development Committee’s current projects include:<\/p>\n

    • supporting the Office of the Provost in the creation of an AI graduation requirement.<\/li>\n
    • mapping AI and AI-adjacent courses across the Montclair and Bloomfield campuses and classifying them using these frameworks.<\/li>\n
    • investigating how advances in AI are shaping workforce expectations and the skill sets students will need as they enter professional fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
