The 3 year campus program track starts in the Fall semester. All courses are 3 credits. Students take 3 or 4 courses per semester (Fall \/ Spring). There may be opportunity to take up to 2 electives during Summer sessions during their program, to lessen the academic year load (Fall\/ Spring).<\/p>\n
Year 1 (Fall, Spring, Summer)<\/strong>: Students receive comprehensive training in generalist social work with individuals, families, groups, organizations and communities. Students become familiar with prevention and intervention methods designed to promote client well-being, based on scientific inquiry and best practices. Course topics include diversity, oppression, social justices, assessment and diagnosis, policy, human behavior and research. No practicum work.<\/p>\n Year 2 (Fall, Spring, Summer):<\/strong> Student apply generalist practice, knowledge and skills while participating in a supervised practicum at least 15 hours per week. Course topics include generalist clinical practice and child and family policy.<\/p>\n Year 3 (Fall and Spring):<\/strong> Students obtain training in specialized clinical practice with children, youth and families. Course topics include clinical practice, family interventions, and practice evaluation. Students also participate in a supervised clinical practicum at an agency serving children, adolescents and\/or families for at least 18 hours per week.<\/p>\n ** Clinical Courses that qualify for NJ LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker)<\/p>\n
