Are students and/or post-doctoral fellows required to complete the training?<\/div>
\n

If they are listed on the application as senior personnel, or are contributing to the research in a significant,\u00a0 meaningful way they are required to complete the training.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

How often will I be required to complete the training?<\/div>
\n

At least annually. All covered individuals will be required to complete the training within the 12 month period prior to the date of proposal submission.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

I have an active NSF, NIH and/or DOE award. Will I be required to complete the training?<\/div>
\n

No. Currently, this requirement does not extend to those with active awards, or\u00a0 pending awards. We expect this will change in the near future, and strongly recommend training for those with active NSF, DOE and USDA awards.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

I have an NSF, NIH, DOE, and/or USDA application under review. Does this requirement apply to me?<\/div>
\n

Not yet. If your proposal is selected for an award, it is possible that this requirement may be extended to new awards. If so, we anticipate this will be indicated in the Notice of Grant Award.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n

I understand that you anticipate this requirement will apply to other federal agencies. Should I take the training?<\/div>

Currently, this federal training mandate does not apply to other federal agencies beyond the NSF, NIH, Department of Energy, and USDA.
