McCormick Center for Child Advocacy and Policy, CHSS) received a $700,000 subaward from\u00a0Rutgers University\/NJ Department of Children and Families for the\u00a0\u201cNew Jersey Child Welfare Training Program\u201d for 2014-2015. The Center provides training for Area Directors, Assistant Directors, Local Office Managers, and Case Work Supervisors employed by the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services in Essex, Union, Hudson, Bergen, and Passaic Counties. The objective of this training program is to manage and coordinate a competency-based, family-centered, culturally relevant statewide workforce development program for the child welfare\/child protection agency in New Jersey.<br \/>\nDr. Dickinson was also awarded $104,624 from the NJ Department of Children and Families for \u201cPost BA Certificate in Child Advocacy and Policy 2014-2015&#8243; which serves Division of Youth and Family Services workers and Department of Children and Families workers who wish to further their expertise in working with adolescents in the public welfare system.<br \/>\n<\/div><div class=\"prpl-column one-fifth\"><br \/>\n<figure class=\"responsive-image-holder wp-caption alignnone\"><\/figure><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div><br \/>\n<div class=\"prpl-row\"><div class=\"prpl-column four-fifths\"><br \/>\n<strong>Dibyendu Sarkar<\/strong> and <strong>Yang Deng<\/strong> (Earth and Environmental Studies, CSAM) were awarded $69,997&#8211;the first year of a two-year, NOAA-funded $139,995 subaward from the New Jersy Sea Grant Consortium&#8211;for &#8220;A Green Technology for Nutrient and Metals Reduction in New Jersey Coastal Waters.&#8221; The project will develop new \u201cgreen\u201d stormwater BMP technologies to reduce the loadings of stormwater-induced nutrients and toxic metals to coastal waters.<br \/>\n<\/div><div class=\"prpl-column one-fifth\"><br \/>\n<figure class=\"responsive-image-holder wp-caption alignnone\"><\/figure><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div><br \/>\n<div class=\"prpl-row\"><div class=\"prpl-column four-fifths\"><br \/>\n<strong>Meiyin Wu <\/strong>(Passaic River Institute, CSAM) and <strong>Kevin Olsen<\/strong> (Chemistry, CSAM) received a $15,932 contract from the Lake Hopatcong Foundation for &#8220;Project II: Sediment Phosphorous Study&#8221; which will examine phosphorus in lake sediments to better understand the phosphorus availability in Lake Hopatcong.<br \/>\n<\/div><div class=\"prpl-column one-fifth\"><br \/>\n<figure class=\"responsive-image-holder wp-caption alignnone\"><\/figure><br \/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"inline_featured_image":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3202","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-featured-awards"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sponsored-programs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3202","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sponsored-programs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sponsored-programs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sponsored-programs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sponsored-programs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=3202"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sponsored-programs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/3202\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sponsored-programs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=3202"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sponsored-programs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=3202"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/sponsored-programs\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=3202"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
