Duo Login for Registration Week

To make logging in easier during Registration Week, the “Remember Me” period for Duo will be extended so you won鈥檛 have to verify your login every time鈥攋ust once for the first week of registration!

How to Enable It

When logging in, check the box that says 鈥淵es, this is my device.鈥� As long as you use the same device and browser, you won鈥檛 need to verify with Duo again for 7 days.

Heads Up: If you switch devices or clear your browser history, you鈥檒l need to re-authenticate.

Registration Waiting Room

To ensure a smooth registration experience for everyone, we’ve implemented a virtual waiting room, courtesy of Queue-it, during peak registration periods. If many students are registering simultaneously, you’ll be placed in a queue and automatically advanced when it’s your turn. This will help maintain system stability and provide a fair registration process for all students. Queue-it will display your position in line and estimated wait time. We appreciate your patience as we work to make registration as efficient as possible for everyone.

Here鈥檚 what to expect:

• If the registration system is at capacity when it’s your time to register, you鈥檒l be automatically placed into a waiting room and given an estimated wait time.
• You can choose the “Notify Me” option once placed in the queue. To do so you will enter your Montclair email. You will then receive two emails鈥攐ne confirming your spot in line and another when it鈥檚 your turn.
• If you leave the page, you鈥檒l need to confirm you still want to register when you return.
• Once you鈥檙e in, you won鈥檛 need to wait again unless you clear cookies or switch browsers/devices.

Please Note: There is no waiting room for browsing classes or preparing for registration.

The University plans to resume normal operations on Wednesday, February 25. A message will be sent if that plan changes.

Moving Vehicles and Parking

All cars must be moved to designated parking areas by Sunday, February 22 at 3 p.m. so that our facilities team can properly clear the snow.

Montclair Campus

Vehicles on the Montclair campus must be moved from surface parking lots to either the Red Hawk Parking Deck or the CarParc Diem Parking Deck

Bloomfield Campus students parking in Lot B1 must park on the eastern side of the lot in the area designated for snow removal parking.

• Sprague Library will not be open for in-person services on Sunday, February 22. Remote services will be provided.

• Residential students should consider stocking up on food and medicines today as travel during the storm will be difficult or impossible.

Next Steps

To make sure you are on track and ready to register beginning Friday, October 31, follow these steps:

1. See Your Advisor:听Make an appointment with your academic advisor through听听so they can help develop an education plan for completing your degree and beyond!

Find Out if You Need A PIN:听All first-year students, pre-declared majors (University College), undergraduate students majoring in Anthropology, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Geography, Sustainability Science, Political Science, Jurisprudence, Law and Society or Law and Governance, readmit students and transfer students are听required to meet with their advisor in order to receive a registration PIN.
   1. Priority registration students will receive an email explaining how to obtain their 鈥渁lternate PIN鈥� before their registration time.

3. Check for Holds:听Holds are placed on your account if you have not completed necessary requirements established by the University or have not paid your outstanding bill.

The deadline to add a class for Session A & B is the end of the day on Monday, September 8.

• The last day to add a course for Session C is Monday, November 3.
• You may still withdraw from classes, but please be aware of the various deadlines as it relates to W grades, 50% or 0% adjustments to your account. View All Add/Drop/Withdrawal Deadlines

Waitlists

If you receive an email regarding an available waitlisted seat, you will have only 48 hours, or until the end of day Saturday, September 6, to add yourself into the class.

Permits

If you have received a permit in a course, make sure to register for the class before the end of the day on Monday, September 8 for Sessions A & B!

Academic Engagement verification is required for all students, each term, and can be accessed through . Whether or not your professor uses their Canvas course, you will enter the Canvas course to perform the needed action for each of your spring classes.

How to Complete Verification Via Canvas

   1. The non-graded assignment simply asks you to describe what you expect to learn from the class.
3. Complete the free form question by no later than one week after your class begins.

Have Spring Financial Aid?

For students receiving Financial Aid, completing this assignment for ALL of your courses ensures that your Financial Aid will be processed.
