How It Works

Donate toiletry items and receive a credit toward one outstanding parking citation.

  • Each item = $10 credit
  • Example: A $50 citation can be resolved with 5 donated items
  • Limit: One citation dismissal per student

  • Fire lane or PWD space violations

Winter Storm Update: Remote Monday, February 23 /student-services/2026/02/21/winter-storm-update-remote-monday-february-23/ /student-services/2026/02/21/winter-storm-update-remote-monday-february-23/#respond Sat, 21 Feb 2026 15:24:17 +0000 /student-services/?p=217509 Due to the incoming winter storm, both campuses of ¾«Æ·³ÉÈ˸£ÀûÔÚÏß University will shift to fully remote operations beginning Sunday, February 22 at 3 pm and continuing on Monday, February 23.

There will be no in-person activities, classes or meetings on both the Montclair and Bloomfield campuses. All offices and the libraries will provide online services only.

Essential employees should report as scheduled. All other employees are expected to work remotely. Any previously-approved time off will be charged.

The University plans to resume normal operations on Tuesday, February 24. A message will be sent if that plan changes.

Moving Vehicles and Parking

All cars must be moved to designated parking areas by Sunday, February 22 at 3 p.m. so that our facilities team can properly clear the snow.

Montclair Campus

Vehicles on the Montclair campus must be moved from surface parking lots to either the Red Hawk Parking Deck or the CarParc Diem Parking Deck

Bloomfield Campus

Bloomfield Campus students parking in Lot B1 must park on the eastern side of the lot in the area designated for snow removal parking.

Additional Details

  • It is essential for all drivers to stay off campus roads during the storm. This is for your safety and so our facilities team can properly clear the snow.
  • All in-person activities, including performances, meetings, athletic events on both campuses will be cancelled effective 3 p.m. on Sunday.
  • Shuttles will stop running at 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 22.
  • The Student Center and Student Recreation Center on the Montclair Campus will close beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 22.
  • Sprague Library will not be open for in-person services on Sunday, February 22. Remote services will be provided.
  • Sam’s, Freeman and Schweitzer Dining Halls will operate on a normal schedule throughout the weekend.
  • Residential students should consider stocking up on food and medicines today as travel during the storm will be difficult or impossible.

However, students have the opportunity to waive or opt out of SHIP by submitting proof of a comprehensive, Affordable Care Act (ACA)-compliant health insurance plan online through University Health Plans.

How to Waive or Enroll in the University Health Insurance

  1. Ìýto either waive or enroll in the school-sponsored health insurance plan.
    1. Waive:ÌýSimply complete theÌýÌýbefore the deadline of Monday, September 15, 2025.
    2. Enroll: Simply complete theÌý. If you do not complete this form, you will automatically be enrolled and charged the student health insurance premium.
    3. If you do not act to waive or enroll, you will receive weekly reminders directly from University Health Plans (UHP).
  2. Get Access to Health Services!ÌýEnrolling before the waiver deadline date will allow you access to the benefits as early as the plan’s effective date, which is Thursday, August 15, 2025. Regardless of the type of insurance coverage you have, all ¾«Æ·³ÉÈ˸£ÀûÔÚÏß University students are eligible to receive outpatient care at the Student Health Center on the Montclair campus or the Bloomfield campus. Mental Health First Aid is an in-person, eight (8) hour course that teaches adults 18 years and older how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. The training gives you the skills you need to reach out and provide initial help and support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem or experiencing a crisis.

General Access to Campus

To maintain the security of the main campus during the winter closing, employees may have access to their offices only in the unusual circumstance that their supervisors require them to perform a specific job duty during that period or, in the case of faculty members, to pursue ongoing research or other faculty responsibilities. The employee, faculty member or a Dean must inform University Police via msupolice@montclair.edu as soon as the need to be on campus is known, specifying the purpose, date(s) and time(s) that access is required. Upon arrival and departure, the employee must sign in and out at the University Police building.

Please submit any and all names of students who are engaged in research that requires their presence during the winter closing, in advance, to University Police via msupolice@montclair.edu. The submission must indicate that no safety hazards are posed by the student’s presence in the laboratory and/or office. Upon arrival and departure, the student must sign in and out at the University Police building and have their ¾«Æ·³ÉÈ˸£ÀûÔÚÏß University Student ID card. Students may also have access to buildings if they are accompanied by a faculty member or administrator who has followed the procedures described above. Anyone not authorized to be in a building during this period will be escorted from the building. All employees and students must have a key and/or access code to gain entry to the specific room requested. University Police will be responsible for opening the exterior door of the building as needed.
