MSU Team Presents on Mathematical Making

Doctoral student Denish Akuom and his supervisor, Dr. Steven Greenstein, recently gave a research presentation at the in Nashville, TN. Their presentation, co-authored with Dr. Eileen Fern谩ndez, was titled 鈥淢athematical Making in Teacher Preparation: Research at the Intersections of Identity, Pedagogy, and Design.鈥 This project explored the potential benefits of a novel Making experience within mathematics teacher preparation that the team hypothesized would inform the pedagogical and curricular thinking of prospective teachers of elementary mathematics.
